A PEAK ALERT has been issued

Peak Alert: 5:00am Wednesday (Feb 19) through 9:00am Friday (Feb 21). Your HOEC team is always taking measures to deliver you safe, reliable, and affordable power. Energy usage during winter weather affects the price we pay for electricity for the next fiscal year. Our wholesale power provider is expecting an all time high peak based on member usage.

YOU can play a part by conserving energy the next few days by following the tips below.

Legislative Conference

HOEC along with more than 200 other cooperative leaders from across the state gathered for the annual Missouri Electric Cooperatives State Legislative Conference. Their goal: to advocate for the needs of rural communities and ensure their voices were heard by lawmakers. Gov. Mike Kehoe spoke, sharing his vision for his time in office.

Car and Power Line Safety

If you see a car in an accident with a power pole, your first instinct may be to rush toward the vehicle to offer help. Always remember to keep your distance from the vehicle and all electrical equipment that has been damaged. Instruct those in the car to stay inside until trained professionals indicate it is safe to exit.

Space Heater Safety

Electric space heaters are a convenient source of supplemental heat, but they pose significant fire and electric shock hazards... for example, space heaters without adequate safety features, space heaters placed near combustibles or space heaters that are improperly plugged in. Never plug one into an extension cord or a power strip.
