Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative (HOEC) respects your right to privacy and recognizes our responsibility to protect the confidentiality of your personal information. When you apply for utility service with HOEC, personal information is collected. This information may include personal data such as name, address, telephone numbers, e-mail address, prior utility service providers, Social Security Number, and Driver's License Number. HOEC also maintains information about your transactions and account experiences with us.
Personal information collected and maintained by HOEC is available only to employees and representatives of HOEC who need access to specific data in the performance of their duties providing utility service.
HOEC does not sell the personal information it collects from members and utility customers. We maintain reasonable safeguards to secure and protect the personal information we acquire from you. HOEC may disclose personal information as permitted or required by law, including, for example:
- To credit reporting agencies;
- To local, state and federal law enforcement pursuant to lawful process;
- To third parties acting on our behalf;
- To appropriate regulatory agencies; and
- To collect any outstanding debt for utility services.
