We have more than 30 broken poles, like the one shown here, from the tornadoes yesterday. Replacing poles is a longer process at times but all our crews and extra crews are working to make the repairs. Thank you for your patience.

The HOEC office will be closed Monday May 27th for Memorial Day, as we remember and honor those who served. Dispatchers will be available in the event of a power outage. Outages may be reported with the "Report an Outage" link at top-right, or in the SmartHub mobile app, or by phone at 417-256-2131 or toll-free 1-888-463-7693.

More detail coming to billing statements

Starting on the June 1 due bill, you will begin seeing a line labeled "Service Availability." This is NOT a new charge. It has always been included in the Energy Charge amount on your billing statement, but now will be separately listed. This is the minimum monthly amount charged to each meter. The purpose of the service availability fee is to recover a portion of the fixed costs of providing service to our members. This includes the cost of equipment at your location, used to deliver power to your home, as well as things such as the billing service costs.
