HOEC sent seven linemen to assist members in Georgia after Hurricane Helene made landfall. They traveled to Okefenoke Rural Electric Membership Corporation (OREMC) headquartered in Nahunta, Georgia, to assist with restoration of power to members.

Once completed September 30th, HOEC lineman traveled about 85 miles north to Vidalia, Georgia, where they reported to a tent city that was set up for lineman who would be working with one of three Georgia Cooperatives. Today, they started working a little more inland, working with Little Ocmulgee Electric Membership Corporation, continuing to restore power to members who lost service during the effects of Hurricane Helene.

"We are very proud of our linemen who are working tirelessly, away from their families, to help those at coops hardest hit by this natural disaster," said Dan Singletary, CEO and General Manager of HOEC. "Missouri is proving why we are called the Show Me State. Show me the trouble and we’re here to help."
