The 85th Annual Meeting of Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative was held Friday, May 3, 2024. The meeting was held at the West Plains Civic Center and 1,100 people attended the meeting.
Hamburgers and hotdogs with chips and drinks were available and kids enjoyed the inflatable slides and obstacle course. Peace Valley Telephone and GigFire were available to talk with members about internet services. Ozarks Healthcare offered blood pressure checks and distributed health information and Ozark Action was available to talk about home energy savings. Sho-Me Power Cooperative and Associated Electric Cooperative had displays explaining energy efficiency and power generation.
Brady Walton, Willow Springs native, entertained the crowd with music including many country hits and favorites.
During the meeting, committee members gave their reports, as did CEO/General Manager, Dan Singletary. Individuals elected to the Board of Directors were Garel Montgomery, District 1; Brandon Huffman, District 2; John Plummer, District 3; and Scott Mahan, District 4.
