Storm damage update

Officials at Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative, Inc. (HOEC), report that approximately 870 plus members were without power following the severe weather and extremely high winds that moved through our service territory, specifically the Willow Springs area late Tuesday evening. As a result of the high winds six power poles were broken. For the most part, the storm system stayed to the west, which resulted in other cooperatives to our west being impacted the most. Our crews were dispatched immediately to begin working to safely restore power. We would like to remind members if they see a downed power pole, please stay away from it and report it to the cooperative immediately at 417-256-2131 or 1-888-HOE-POWER. Outage updates will be posted on the HOEC Facebook page. Please note that Facebook is not an avenue to report an outage. If you need to report an outage, please do so by calling 417-256-2131 or 1-888-HOE-POWER. You can also report an outage on the cooperative website at www.hoecoop.org. At this time, we have approximately 126 members without power. Myles Smith, Manager of Member Services said, “High winds can be brutal for us especially when the ground is saturated. As always, we appreciate the patience of our members.”
