2019 Annual Meeting will have fun and entertainment for all

Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative invites you to our 80th Annual Meeting of Membership to be held Friday, May 3rd at the West Plains Civic Center. Back by popular demand will be a live music concert featuring Dawson Hollow.

According to Dawson Hollow's website, “Missouri native Dawson Hollow is an indie-folk band based out of the Ozark Mountains. Their music encompasses the nostalgia of folk while channeling the urgent and intoxicating energy of indie-rock.”

It’s important to note that the cooperative office will be closing at 1:00 p.m. for the Annual Meeting. Registration for the meeting for HOEC members will begin at 4:00 p.m. During the registration period, all children attending will be able to have fun in the Kid’s Zone area with bounce houses and more. Members will also be able to enjoy hot dogs or corn dogs during the registration period. The official business meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.

During the meeting, there will be drawings for numerous door prizes including Springfield Cardinals tickets, a Perception 10’ Kayak with paddle, Silver Dollar City tickets for four, Branson Zip-lining package and much more. Kids ages 12 and under who are accompanied by a HOEC member will have a chance to win a bicycle, Sony PlayStation 4 gaming system, as well as many other prizes.

Members and guests who attend the meeting will also have the chance to visit with many vendors, including Oregon County Soil and Water. Ozarks Medical Center will be offering free blood pressure checks, Sho-Me Power will have Energy Efficiency displays, the University of Missouri Extension office will be back with their smoothie machine, Ozark Action will be discussing weatherization and Home Energy Audits, and new this year will be a Virtual Tour of the Thomas Hill Power Plant offered by Associated Electric Cooperative, Inc. (AECI). This will be an outstanding experience for members! According to AECI’s website, the Thomas Hill Power Plant is an important resource for providing you, our members, with reliable electricity at an affordable cost.
