Storm outage update

Officials at Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative, Inc. (HOEC), report that approximately 730 members were without power following severe weather that moved through the area late Tuesday evening into the early hours of Wednesday morning. Crews were dispatched and began working immediately to safely restore power. Outages were caused by high-winds and lightning and ranged from Dora to Eminence. A majority of the damage caused by this storm was in the western part of our territory near Dora and Zanoni. At this time there are still approximately 76 members without power. Officials have been notified of at least 5 power poles that were severely damaged. HOEC would like to remind members if they see a downed power pole, please stay away from it and report it to the cooperative immediately at 417-256-2131 or 1-888-HOE-POWER. Outage updates will be posted on the HOEC Facebook page. Please note that Facebook is not an avenue to report an outage. If you need to report an outage, please do so by calling 417-256-2131 or 1-888-HOE-POWER. You can also report an outage on the cooperative website at www.hoecoop.org. Myles Smith, Manager of Member Services at HOEC said, “We always appreciate the patience of our members during large outages. The only acceptable outcome during any outage is the safe and efficient restoration of power.”
