Winter storm outage restoration completed

Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative finished restoring power by 10 p.m. Friday evening (Feb. 22nd), following the ice storm which began early Thursday morning and continued through late that afternoon. At the height of the outage HOEC officials reported just over 3800 members of the Cooperative without power.

Trees falling from outside of the Cooperative right of ways and high winds were the main cause of power outages. In total, the Cooperative replaced 7 damaged poles. The areas where damage was most prevalent were in Oregon county and southern Shannon county.

Safety is a number one priority of the Cooperative for all crewmen working to restore power as well as the safety and well being of our members. As always, if you ever witness a downed power line stay away from it and report it the Cooperative immediately.
