Oregon county upgrade completed

Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative has completed a major upgrade of service in a large area of Oregon County. The system improvements made will ensure continued reliability of service to Cooperative members in the area.

At daybreak on Friday October 19th, HOEC utility crews met at the Couch School parking lot for a planning and safety meeting. Jeff West, Manager of Operations, addressed the group with last minute instructions of the work to be completed.

HOEC crews then upgraded service to an area from Couch School north on Highway E and County Road 244, west from Couch School approximately three miles, and east from the school to V Highway and south to the Arkansas state line. HOEC linemen concentrated efforts to complete the large project as safely and as quickly as possible. The work began at approximately 8 a.m. and was completed ahead of schedule by 10:30 a.m.

HOEC would like to thank the Cooperative members that were affected by this planned outage for their patience while the work was being completed.
