Link Union to perform at HOEC's Annual Meeting

Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative invites you to our 78th Annual Meeting of Membership to be held May 5th at the West Plains Civic Center. This year, HOEC is hosting a live music concert, featuring Link Union.

Parking Lot Closed

The Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative office parking lot will be closed for maintenance on Saturday, March 25th and Sunday, March 26th. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The parking lot is scheduled to re-open on Monday, March 27th.

Outage recap; all power restored

Officials at HOEC report that approximately 1,800 members were without power following severe weather that moved through the area early Wednesday morning, March 1st. Outages were caused by high-winds, lightning, and trees falling from outside the cooperative right of ways.

HOEC started out the morning with more than 1800 members without power due to the severe storms that passed through the area. As of Wednesday afternoon we are down to approximately 100 members still without power, with crews continuing to work to get power restored to every member. The picture shows a downed power pole in the Birch Tree area that was caused by extreme winds.

HOEC started out the morning of Wednesday, March 1st early, with more than 1800 members without power due to the severe storms that passed through the area. Outages were caused by high-winds, lightning, and trees falling from outside the cooperative right of ways. Crews were dispatched and began working to safely restore power during the early morning hours.

Be prepared for spring storms with a weather radio

Storm season will be arriving soon. Severe storms can happen at any time during the year, but are most common during the months of March through July. According to the National Weather Service, Missouri ranks 10th in the United States among states where tornadoes are common. Missouri will average around 45 tornadoes annually.
