The Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative business office will be closed on Friday, March 30th, for Good Friday. As always, dispatchers will be available to serve members in the event of a power outage.

High Usage in Late January Will Impact March 1 Bills

Officials with Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative would like to remind members that on the morning of January 17th a peak level of electricity usage was set. The new peak level was set due to the extremely low temperatures that were recorded in the Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative service area.

Geothermal Tax Credit is Back!

The Geothermal tax credit is retroactive. Homeowners who bought a geothermal heating, cooling, and hot water system from January 1, 2017 until now will qualify for the 30% credit.

The tax credit will be at 30% until December 31, 2019. In 2020 the tax credit will begin to phase out, dropping to 26%, and in 2021 it lowers to 22 percent. The tax credit will expire on December 31, 2021.

Dawson Hollow to be 2018 Annual Meeting Entertainment

Dawson Hollow, formerly known as Link Union, will be the entertainment at the Cooperative's 79th Annual Meeting on May 4th, 2018.

Officials with Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative would like to remind members that on the mornings of January 2nd and January 17th new peak levels of electricity usage were set. The new peak levels were set due to the extremely low temperatures that were recorded in the HOEC service area.

January 17 Subzero Temperatures Result in Usage Peak

Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative reports that on the morning of January 17, 2018, a new peak level of electricity usage was set by HOEC members. Members may recall that the cooperative’s last peak was set on the morning of January 2, 2018.

During the past several days, The National Weather Service has reported temperatures as low as the negative digits.

Home and Garden Show March 2nd and 3rd

The Southern Missouri Home Builders Association (SMHBA) will host the 26th Annual Home and Garden Show on Friday, March 2nd and Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 at the West Plains Civic Center. The show will be open from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
