Holiday office hours

The HOEC business office will be closed starting at noon on Christmas Eve (Tuesday, Dec. 24) and all day on Christmas (Wednesday, Dec. 25). The office will also be closed New Year's Day (Wednesday, Jan. 1). Dispatchers will be on duty with service linemen on call to serve members in the event of a power outage.

High School Juniors can apply for CYCLE program now

Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative (HOEC) continues its commitment to support area youth in education. The Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience (CYCLE) is a statewide effort of the Electric Cooperatives of Missouri designed to bring together some of the brightest young high school students to learn about electric cooperatives and state government.

Notice to Members: HOEC office closed for Thanksgiving

The Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative business office will be closed on Thursday, November 28th, and Friday, November 29th, for the Thanksgiving holiday. As always, dispatchers will be available to serve members in the event of a power outage.

High winds outage update

Approximately 804 members were without power as a result of high winds that moved through the service area last night and this morning. Linemen and cooperative personnel reported to work and began working immediately to safely restore power. Crews have reduced the number of outages to 181 members at this time.

Veteran's Day

This November 11th, Americans all across our great country celebrate Veteran's Day and honor the many men and women who have served our country in uniform. All of us here at HOEC would like to thank all veterans (including those among our employees) and current military members for the many freedoms we enjoy as a result of their courage, commitment, and sacrifice.

Nov 8 update on field audit project

Representatives with Davey Resource Group will begin working in the China Substation area next week. This area includes South Fork to Moody, Arrowhead Lake Estates, South 17 Hwy to Spring Lake Estates and Lanton. As a reminder, Davey Resource Group is a contractor for Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative, Inc.

As you are looking for that perfect spot to snag a big buck, remember that electric utility poles and right-of-ways are not meant for deer stands. It is extremely dangerous to you, and to the line workers who maintain your electricity.

Choose a tree away from the power lines and have a great safe hunt!

Western Governors University Missouri Offering Scholarship

In an effort to empower residents in rural areas of the state to go back to school and further their education, Western Governors University (WGU) Missouri has partnered with the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives (AMEC) to provide new students an opportunity to receive a scholarship valued at $3,000. The scholarship will be applied at a rate of $750 per six-month term.
