Bakersfield Science Teacher Attends Energy Conference

32 educators attended the "Energy in Today's Classroom" Teacher Education program held July 25th and 26th at the University of Missouri, Columbia. Jodi Burns, a Junior High Science teacher at Bakersfield, represented Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative at the conference.

Educators had the opportunity to hear presentations from several different university professors and electric cooperative professionals regarding issues such as Energy Efficiency, Energy Production, Transmission and Distribution of Electricity as well as take a tour of Boone Electric Cooperative's community solar farm and the biomass utility scale generation facility owned and operated by the University of Missouri. This interactive course allows educators to experience firsthand how energy is produced and transmitted from source to farm and home.

Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative takes great pride in its commitment to education.
