Overnight storms lead to outages; more storms in forecast

Approximately 1,000 members were without power following severe weather that moved through the service area in the early hours of Friday morning. Crews were dispatched and began working immediately to safely restore power. At the time of this posting, we have approximately 97 members still without power.

Outages were caused by high wind and lightning and are very wide spread throughout our service area. At this time, we have no reports of broken poles.

According to the latest forecast, storms are projected to last throughout the weekend. We would like to take this opportunity to remind our members, if you ever come across a downed power line, please stay away from it and report it to the cooperative immediately at 417-256-2131 or 1-888-HOE-POWER. If you need to report an outage, you can do so by calling our 24 hour dispatch service at 417-256-2131 or 1-888-HOE-POWER. You can also report an outage on our website by clicking here.
